Parents are frustrating.

I tried as hard as I could without resorting to fighting words, that I wanted more privacy.

For example, stop asking why there are tissues next to my bed - you know very well why... and it's not nosebleeds.

When I say knock, knock before you start opening the door. Not after you're already talking to me.

When I turn off my monitor, when I close a window, it is none of your business what I was reading, who I am talking too.

If I don't wanna eat, don't get all mental and paranoid on me. I'm not starving myself, so just back the fuck off.

If I get up early, don't ask eight times why I'm awake.
If I stayed up all night, it's irrelevant, and if I'm just awake, it just is, so don't worry about it.

If I'm making a coffee, how about you try just not asking how many I've had.

If I say I don't want to talk about something, listen. Stop pushing it. Stop talking completely even. Walk away.

If I'm in a bad mood, don't expect me to let you know that nicely.
If I tell you to go away, just take the hint. If I ignore you when you say hi, assume you've upset me or I'm upset.

Don't look at me strangely everytime I try new makeup - it's not like you've never seen me wear makeup before.
Hell, I once put on a bra and stuffed oranges down there.

If you suspect something, just ask.

Whether it's about sex, drugs or rock and roll.

I know you're only human...
and so am I.

Treat me like one.
