Recently my friend joined a socialist group, which is very intensive in the protection of womyn’s rights. She is finding a lot of prejudice from these particular feminist extremists, who look upon a woman having a relationship with a male to be letting down the team and against feminist ideals. I’m so sick of this attitude, spread by people so invested in their ideals they can’t see that they are encouraging other negative prejudices and broad generalisations. If I hear one more person lump all men into one category, in which we are all the oppressors, all jocks, all with masculine control complexes. I’m all for seeking women’s rights, But not for diminishing those of others. When can we stop have feminism and just have humanism, stop setting up these divisions which instantly require segregation to function.

In regards to rape: i still don't think it is considered acceptable in Western countries, therefor it isn't an issue for womens rights. news flash: some guys are pricks and abuse women, and this sort of behavior should be stopped. I don't think this represents our culture as a whole, however diverse. In the 60s it seemed like there was a lot of stuff about allowing women to have careers and not just be housewives. This was because it was generally accepted that women had a set place in society. So i don't think you can compare past situations to what we have now, which is largely fair treatment.

That 66% thing...i know this is just a rant forum and i do enough referencing in uni to be sick of it myself...so i don't need a source but i think it would help. But n0lite, you did claim that other people weren't providing evidence, unlike yourself. Seems like on of those bogus internet factoids thrown around, especially considering how it's conveniently 2/3 of male pay.

I'm running out of steam on this topic but i'll just say this: women trying to make themselves pretty seems...dare i say...natural. Weren't there early human fossils found with shell necklaces on women and whatnot? I just mean to say it isn't as if one day culture suddenly decided women should be objects/treated badly. So basically men/or women made things worse as culture changed gradually. I think it's to hard too really tackle any more...
