I really don't like it when people assume things.

It seems to me that most of the time, people "assume" on purpose to suit their evil needs... yeah, I'm on to you!

The most popular example that I can think of is the oh-so-stupid, "oh, I didn't think you'd be able to come to the party because of your family dinner that night so I just didn't invite you!" Beep! Wrong! It really is always best to be offered. Who's to say that the individual wouldn't have changed their plans around or made themselves available for the cause of the party or whatever it is, anyway? Never assume!

Edit: Don't get me wrong... casual assuming is healthy, and an acceptable factor in conversation. Assuming is only bad when its put to use and consequently someone is stripped of a choice or option that they would normally decide on themselves since another party has "assumed" something.

What if they're cheap and don't want to waste invitations on people they know can't come? Hah! Hah! Did you ever think of that?!

By the way, what the hell is a Samara?

But they don't specifically know for a fact that they can't come. They can't know that they won't cancel their existing plans so that they can attend. It's assuming and it's evil.

I beg to differ. What if they've gone to Germany for a year! Ha! Not mentioning anyone in particular...

Obviously that's an exception, but come on, "Oh, he won't be able to come since he's having dinner at home" and "Oh, she's babysitting that night" are obviously things he/she could get out of if it was something decent or important!
