HAHA! I was looking out my front window yesterday arvo while it was pouring with rain. My house is on a bit of a hill so there was a waterfall of water going down it..
As I was watching, I saw a green garbage bin float by!!! I certainly didn't expect it! How Hilarious!....
Also in my area the bowls club flooded, a few major intersections as well. Pretty bad for drivers eh?
Any one got any funny flooding stories from yesterday? Or just any kind of semi-bad weather mishap thingy?

My car was about to turn into a submarine, when i had to drive through what i think use to be a highway lol, not only couldnt i see where i was going i was sware i was gonna get blown over from 138km+ winds...
i think now is a good time to invest in new windscreen wipers lol
Also loved that the storms and flash flooding warnings happened after the storm happened lol. *pats BOM on the back for their up to date info*

hehe, I'm pretty sure that there is a section that weather ISFATs go in Loz, and that's where you put it. As for storms and disasters I used to live in a really flat area with a dammed river running through it so it was prone to flooding, as such the area was designed with large outflows and regular open spaces for water to drain in. Personally I always wanted a slight flood so I could kayak to school, and leave it with the bikes; I thought that'd be cool (not thinking of course that if it was deep enough to kayak that not enough people would be able to get there to make running school worthwhile). And one day it did flood, just enough; yet I was on holidays at the time, I've never forgiven the weather for that.
As for BOM I lost all faith in them when at 5am they forecast "15 - 20 knot winds for the morning" and we got less than 4 knots, most of the time 1 or less. It was a few hours, how can you get it that wrong?
But I doubt you were getting 138km+ winds as the most we got according to the
stats was 81km/h

(I could be wrong though, 81 is still quite huge) Regardless I'm glad I slept through most of (mostly 'cause I just enjoy sleep

).

I walked part of the way home, but the subway at blackburn had flooded. I think it took about 10 minutes to get to waist height, because there are two streets that practically funnel the water into it. Everyone that had to be on the other platform crossed the tracks, although apparently there was someone up to their chest in the subway earlier.

Ah fair enough, I chose Laverton as I knew it was an airfield out in very flat ground with pretty much nothing surrounding it and is a full reporting station. I mean the station at Melbourne city only recorded 38km/h winds; which strikes me as a little dodgy.

yeh i mostly fly out of YMPC Raaf base Point Cook, which is pretty much lav lol
im in mt martha / mornington, but not many people know where the hell that is lol so i normally say melbourne.
theres a bridge at the new harbor in like rye or what ever it is, that cars normally drive under and that apparently was completly under water lol. and i know that a mate of mine working in kmar in endevour hills said that the shop was like 2 inches of water, how ever much 2 inches is lol
oh pirate, they get their winds speed from the dop radar in lav, which is more responcible for rain fall, and it sucks at wind lol. 2 weeks ago it was showing a cyclone in the bay
another good prediction from BOM with their state of the art radar

Are you serious, they use the radar for wind? Woah! As long as you're not moving it's not that hard to measure.

Two days ago i was stuck on the train for almost an hour because there was a tree on the line. When the train finally arrived at the next station i decide to get off because it was only one stop from the station i was supposed to get off anyway. The water was flowing down the street so fast, and deep that we had to walk several hundred metres down the road in order to be able to cross to the other side.
My mum picked me up and on the way home the traffic stopped in order to let a fire truck go past. However this stupid women decides to still mosy along across the street infrount of this fire truck. What an airhead!
The truck missed her by about a metre.
As for the weather forcasts. I dont trust them. The further infrount they predict the more wrong they are. Bloody Oath. Will they ever get it right?

well, at least it wasn't a sand storm, but I really would have loved it if it snowed

.
Think positive: everyone who has bought tanks now have full ones, the prostitutes in St Kilda have probably washed away, and maybe we wont have really bad bush fires this year (unlike last year, and it made the news on CBC)
